St. Breward is a remote village at the heart of Bodmin Moor and the present church consists of a nave, chancel, north and south aisles, north transept and porch. The tower is of the 15th century and is built in three stages.

The church is build on the site of a 12th century Norman church which was probably cruciform. JP St. Aubyn carried out a restoration in 1864 but some old woodwork survives in the roof and some bench ends.

There are carved slate memorials to Lewis Adams 1609, Christopher Rogers 1609, Nicholas Burrough 1654 and William Billing 1654.

The font appears to have been reworked from a Norman one and the pulpit is of the time of the mid-nineteenth century restoration.
